neither team played 'long ball' on Sunday. I'm not sure what Allardyce was trying to achieve with his comments.

Maybe he was just gutted we conceded a right shit goal.

Apparently van Gaal presented these STATS in his press conference today and had a bit of a pop at Allardyce for his post match comments.

RVP definitely did it on purpose. You seen him have a glance to see where Tomkins is.

Ah ok, thanks Scorch but it still doesn't get away from the fact that Carroll got sent of for far less than Persie did

Tomkins said Fellaini broke his nose, rather than Van Persie, but he doesn't think Fellaini did it on purpose.

Hahaha, so Van Persi's forearm smash to Tomkins head should have been no more than a yellow, his nose is FUCKING BROKEN

Nolan brings nothing to the team so hopefully QPR,Leicester or Burnley will snap him up for a promotion push next season.

I also thought the Valencia sub was strange. He caused their defence some problems I thought, plus Sakho hadn't played a game for 5 weeks and looked to be tiring.

I have a balanced view, as Sam is providing a great season for us, but it's frustrating to think how much better we could do if he makes seemingly obvious changes. Regardless of Nolans ability/pace, he was simply dead on his feet with 25 minutes still to go. Yet he stubbornly keeps him on and won't introduce Amalfitano?

He's doing a good job, dont get me wrong, and can be considered unlucky yesterday.. but seems to get simple things bizzarely wrong.

Man utd were v lucky and the team put in a great shift.

With a better final pass we could easily have made more of 3/4 two on two attacks. Hopefully the front two will rip some average defences to shreds if they are given time to develop their partnership.

The team needs to be built around song. Takes a few risks but he will raise standards at the club and attract better players/managers

Re: West Ham v Man Utd - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
Agree with most of the positives here.

BUT, have to add that the Valencia sub was woeful. He still had some pace that we could have used upfront.

Jarvis did OK, but Nolan should have came off!!!!!

Re: West Ham v Man Utd - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
I wish that Song would play a simple pass, and the way that he is facing, sometimes rather than keeping possession and turning in to trouble.

Good performance all round imo and got caught by an absolute swinger at the end.

Quality today, cruel luck for us but proper performance.

Valencia and Sakho up front is the future. I hope Sam noticed that today.

Swindon

Is he really?

Re: West Ham v Man Utd - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
It's taken ONE game to show how much better we are with Sakho and calencia up front playing a diamond in midfield. If ginge orcreid had been fit today and kouyate had been in midfield instead if nolan that extra bit would have got us the win

Oddly, if all the games recently where Sam has tried to defend out the lead with stupid substitutions, I cannot understand why he didn't wibd the clock down a little towards the end and chuck in MORGAN and JOB. Just for some fresh legs and to break the play up a little.

The result was disappointing but our performance was really encouraging.

I hope that we can carry the level of commitment we showed today into our next two games and come out with good results.

Great performance, gutted couldn't get over the line but was one of them games when you just knew they would nick something. The ref was desperate to help them.

No doubt match of the day will make it look they deserved it with their second half chances but we dominated the game and should have won.

Fancy us for the cup now.

Re: West Ham v Man Utd - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
Good performance pity we couldn't get it over the line
I thought Tomkins and noble were superb
Kouyate was excellent and proved maybe he can step up when reid goes in the summer
The two fullbacks were solid going both ways
The two front men were an absolute handful
I thought Downing and song were disappointing probably more so song who hasn't played well since he came back from injury
Nolan played ok by his standards but was still the worst player in our side by some distance
Song and nolan were fucked In the last 20 and thought we could of done with some fresh legs it was a pity poyet wasn't on the bench or even the kid to help deal with the long balls they were pumping in
All in all very good performance if not a slightly dissapointing result

Noble hitting his shot straight at de Gea was the turning point.

THAT would have killed the game off if he'd buried that shot. Just fucking knew the cunts were gonna nick something but still pukka seeing us look more than capable of beating them jammy fuckers.

Clattenburg must have been pleased when they equalised.

Gave the cunts everything today.

Re: West Ham v Man Utd - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
By the way, Lassana Diarra is still training with the club hoping to earn a deal.

Might be a useful midfield signing if we use Kouyate at centre back more often.

I would imagine we have room on our wage bill for this.
